Jude 24-25 (KJV)

What we Believe

Our History

24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

Our mission is to build a church that will bring glory and praise to God. We exist to reach nonbelievers by teaching and preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, along with water and spirit baptism. We endeavor to teach Christians how to grow and to mature in their relationship with Christ by informing, equipping, and exhorting them through the wordof God under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost. We aim to be involved in outreach by: expressing the love of God to the people in the streets, in the prisons, in the hospitals, etc. We encourage all men, women, and children to prepare themselves for the coming of the Lord.

Pastor Leonard Byrum.

Our belief is that Jesus Christ is the embodiment of God. We believe that he is the only means of salvation. He was born into the world to offer himself, a sinless blood sacrifice for our sins that we may have hope to eternal life. We believe that we must repent, be born again of the water and of the spirit to enter the Kingdom of GOD. We believe the method of baptism is immersion in the water in the name of Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38, 8:16). We believe that speaking in tongues as the spirit gives utterance is the initial evidence of receiving the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:4-40, 19:6).

The church was founded and established by five faithful members,Pastor Hattie Barron, Deacon Louis Barron (her husband), Mother Blache Jarrett, Mother Pearlie Taylor, and Mother  Iratean Byrum (last living founder). The church started in Pastor Barron and Deacon Barron's home at 539 Reid Street, Brownsville, TN. Later in 1978, they purchased an old house at 404 East Cherry Street, Brownsville, TN and began to hold services there. Today, the church is currently under the leadership of Pastor Leonard Byrum, who became the full time Pastor in 2000, after the passing of Pastor Barron in 1998. By the grace of God we are still growing strong.
